A free checker for one question that is annoyingly hard to answer: what does a crawler actually get when it asks for this page?

Why this exists

Every few months someone finds out that half their catalogue was invisible to search for a year, and the cause is a two line robots.txt rule or a price that only appears after a script runs. The evidence is scattered across a rendering test here, a robots tester there, and a header dump somewhere else. seoder runs those checks together against one URL and prints one answer.

The bot matrix is the part we could not find anywhere else for free. Search crawlers and AI crawlers get different treatment from CDNs, firewalls and robots rules, often without the site owner knowing, so the only reliable way to learn what GPTBot sees is to ask as GPTBot and report what came back.

What the checker will not do

It does not use proxies, fingerprint evasion or any other trick to get past a block. If a site blocks a crawler, the report says blocked. A checker that quietly routed around the block would produce a result that is wrong in the one direction that matters, and it would make this an unblocking tool, which is a different product with a different reputation.

It also does not crawl a site. One check reads one URL, in each mode described on how it works, and stops.

Who writes the content

The crawler pages, the glossary and the status code pages are written and maintained by us and dated. Where an article carries a number from a crawl, the crawl output is published alongside it so you can download the data and check the arithmetic.

Built by the team behind spider.cloud. We work on crawling infrastructure, which is the reason we had the pieces for this lying around and the reason we care about the answer. Nothing on this site requires an account and nothing here is gated.
